How to Build Your First One Piece Card Game Deck
Share
Building a legal One Piece Card Game deck requires a Leader, a 50-card main deck, and a 10-card DON!! reserve, all within the colors your Leader allows. Here's how to put it all together step by step.
What makes a legal deck
- 1 Leader, chosen first: it sets your playable colors and starting life.
- 50 main deck cards: Characters, Events, and Stages.
- 10 DON!! cards, in a separate deck, never shuffled with the main deck.
- Maximum 4 copies of any single card (the Leader is always unique and exempt).
The Leader's role
The Leader is the single most important card in your deck: it sets your starting life (usually between 4 and 5), the colors you can play (one, or two combined), and often carries an active or passive ability that shapes your whole deck's strategy.
The DON!! deck: the game's resource
Each turn, you add DON!! cards to your play area. They can be attached to your Leader or your Characters to boost their Power (each attached DON!! adds +1000 Power), or used to pay the cost of certain Event cards.
Building around a strategy
A mono-color deck is simpler to balance and easier on your color requirements, while a two-color deck offers more flexibility and synergy at the cost of trickier color management. Pick your Leader based on the strategy that appeals to you: aggressive, control, or synergy built around a specific character type.
