Riftbound: Legacy — Everything to Know About the Next Set (January 29, 2027)
Share
Riftbound: League of Legends TCG is preparing its biggest set yet: Legacy, Set 6, releases January 29, 2027 with 346 cards and a new booster structure built for draft. Here's everything we know so far.
Release date and timeline
Riftbound: Legacy releases on January 29, 2027, preceded by in-store Pre-Rift events from January 22 to 28, 2027. The first card previews took place at Convergence Fest in Las Vegas, December 11–13, 2026.
Riftbound's biggest set yet
Legacy totals 346 cards, including 93 Showcase versions, with a base run of roughly 253 cards — a record for the game since launch.
Confirmed Legends
Twelve Legends are planned for this set. Eight have already been announced by Riot: Ashe, Garen, Heimerdinger, Illaoi, Karma, Tryndamere, Vladimir, and Lux (via a dedicated Champion Deck). The remaining four are still to be revealed.
A set built for draft
Legacy is billed as the first Riftbound set designed for the draft format, with cross-champion color synergies and lower-rarity "signpost" cards to guide draft picks. Another notable change: booster structure shifts for the first time since the game's launch — one Common slot becomes a Legend-or-Battlefield slot (roughly 50/50), bringing packs down to 6 Commons instead of 7.
Available products
Alongside standard booster packs, Riot has announced Proving Grounds 2nd Edition, a $40 starter box releasing separately on February 19, 2027, featuring a new Rune Kit with a brand-new Minion unit.
