Riftbound booster, display or starter deck: what's the difference?

A booster is a small pack of random cards, a display groups several boosters (usually 24) sold together, and a Champion Deck (or starter deck) is a pre-built, ready-to-play deck centered on a specific character. Each format suits a different need, depending on whether you want to play right away, open cards, or buy in bulk.

The booster

A Riftbound booster is a sealed pack containing a fixed number of cards, with a rarity breakdown defined by the set. It's the best format if you want to discover new cards at random, in the "pack opening" spirit of the game.

The display

A display groups several boosters from the same set (24 boosters for most Riftbound displays), sold together in their original sealed packaging. This is the option to go for if you're buying in quantity, for example to open several boosters at once or to resell/trade the cards you get.

The Champion Deck (starter deck)

Unlike a booster or a display, a Champion Deck has nothing random about it: it's an already-built, ready-to-play 56-card deck centered on a specific Champion. It usually includes the Champion card, a few rares, a booster to customize the deck, a playmat and a deckbox. It's the simplest format to start playing right away, without needing to build a deck from scratch.

Which format should you choose?

Whatever you choose, you can then customize your deck and check it against the official rules with our Riftbound deck builder.
